FCCC Starts Review Of Taxi Fares
FCCC CEO, Joel Abraham.

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) had started a review of taxi fares upon receiving requests from the Fiji Taxi Association for an increase.

Commission Chief Executive Officer Joel Abraham said this was because taxi fares had not been reviewed for the past 11 years and due to the rising cost of operations.

He said the commission had published its first call for submissions on May 19, 2022 and due to the poor response from the industry, the commission had to call for submission again on July 6, 2022, October 21, 2022 and re-advertised on November 2, 2022.
