Labasa and Savusavu Town Council special administrator Ami Kohli says it is unfortunate that some people are using municipal markets to peddle drugs.
His statement comes after recent reports of drug arrests in Labasa.
“We have installed cameras in the markets to curb this and we are doing everything possible to assist Police to identify the drug dealers,” Mr Kohli said.
“In Labasa we even inform Police of the illegal activities and unfortunately by the time Police arrive, the drug dealers disappear.”
