Let’s Go Local: Hot Spring Top Spot For Vasiti Vonokula

Many entrepreneurs are known for being colorful characters, both at work and in their personal lives.
For Vasiti Adi Vonokula owning a small business has it own challenges.
With the little she earns, she continues to provide for her family.
Her journey dated back to 2008 when she started a handicraft business with her friend.
However, all she did was sit and watch while her friend made jewelry.
This was where she developed her interest in artworks and learnt her skills which enabled her to open her own business five years ago.
Ms Vonokula said savings was key to running a small business.
She now specializes in making freshwater pearl jewelry.
“COVID-19 really allowed me to branch out and utilise my networking connections,” she said.
“I rely on my creativity and imagination to create new pieces.
“Learning and networking, those are the two most important things I have had the opportunity of utilising through these workshops.”
