Smoke and stench emanating from the Ram Sami & Sons farm and factory in Wainadoi, outside Lami cannot be tolerated any more, says residents.

They claimed that for the past two months, some residents have suffered from asthma attacks, coughing and vomiting because of the unwanted smell.

Resident, Pio Tanoa who lives near the treatment plant said closing all windows and doors does not help the situation they have to encounter daily.

“Sometimes we cannot do our household chores and we can’t stand it anymore,” he said.

Mother-of-two children Vasemaca Adi Bola’s concern was her children’s health.
