Former Fiji residents, Vikash and Karuna Chand opened their $450,000 bakery busi­ness at 6/9 Patrick Street in Camp­belltown, Sydney, Australia.

It has been running for eight months now.

The couple moved to Australia with only $800 to begin a new life.

Ms Chand said starting a business in a foreign country was not easy, but all was possible through God’s grace and provision in their lives.

She said it all began during the COVID-19 pandemic, when her husband’s working hours were re­duced.

They baked cream buns and gave it to friends to taste and the feed­back was overwhelming.

“We started at a small scale and as news spread about the Fiji taste cream bun through TikTok by our customers, we opened a shop,” Ms Chand.

“We also make all sorts of coffee and cream loaf and curry lamb mince loaf.
