Valamalua First In Fiji And Pacific, Joins World Customs
Expert Trainer at World Customs Organisation Asia Pacific office based in Brussels, Akosita Valamalua.

Akosita Valamalua is the first Pacific Islander to join the World Customs Or­ganisation Asia Pacific office based in Brussels.

She was recently appointed Expert Trainer at the WCO.

She was the Principal Customs Officer and Executive Transformation Support officer at the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.

Below is a brief interview of Ms Valamalua conducted by Oceania Customs Organisation (OCO).

Can you describe your journey in customs?

My Journey in Customs started in November, 2008 when I joined the Fiji Revenue and Cus­toms Authority as a Customs officer posted at Nadi Port

From the first day, I never looked and I worked towards meeting day to day deliverables.
