Fiji is facing the added challenge of mass departure of IT (Information Technology) experts causing significant “brain drain” issues, says Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communications, Manoa Kamikamica.

Thus, the loss of highly skilled professionals in the IT sector has become a serious concern regarding its implications on economic growth and competitiveness.

“Finding solutions to retain and attract highly skilled professionals in the IT industry in Fiji is a priority,” he said while opening the AIIA Pacific Islands Digical Capability Uplift programme yesterday.
