The name of the 2000 Civilian Coup leader, George Speight, is not on the list of prisoners whose life terms, will be pardoned by the Mercy Commission.
Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Siromi Turaga, confirmed that the commission met recently and made a list of people who are to be released early.
Mr Speight is serving life imprisonment after being convicted of treason for leading the country’s third coup. He has been in jail since 2002.
