Fijian U-20’s Squad Member Signs For English Club

Oliver McFadyen was one of the tal­ents that the Fiji Football Associ­ation (Fiji FA) recruited playing overseas as well that included Peter Ra­vai, Aydin Mustahib and Caleb Prasad to make up the Fijian U-19 squad for last year’s OFC U-19 Championship.

Oliver McFadyen was one of the tal­ents that the Fiji Football Associ­ation (Fiji FA) recruited playing overseas as well that included Peter Ra­vai, Aydin Mustahib and Caleb Prasad to make up the Fijian U-19 squad for last year’s OFC U-19 Championship.

Born in Manchester, England the 19-year-old forward is eligible to play for Fiji due his grandfather – John Mc­Fadyen.

Oliver’s father, Jay, said he was im­mensely proud of his achievements.

Speaking to Chronicle Sport, he said: “My father is Fijian, so that’s how Oliver qualifies to represent the country. It was a bit strange really as he came to the at­tention of someone with connections to Fiji during his time at Stockport County. He played in a couple of FA Youth Cup games and scored a goal which caught the eye.
