Fijian U-20’s Squad Member Signs For English Club

Oliver McFadyen was one of the talents that the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) recruited playing overseas as well that included Peter Ravai, Aydin Mustahib and Caleb Prasad to make up the Fijian U-19 squad for last year’s OFC U-19 Championship.
Born in Manchester, England the 19-year-old forward is eligible to play for Fiji due his grandfather – John McFadyen.
Oliver’s father, Jay, said he was immensely proud of his achievements.
Speaking to Chronicle Sport, he said: “My father is Fijian, so that’s how Oliver qualifies to represent the country. It was a bit strange really as he came to the attention of someone with connections to Fiji during his time at Stockport County. He played in a couple of FA Youth Cup games and scored a goal which caught the eye.
