After seeing a wooden house being built from an income earned through the Pacific Labour Mobility Scheme (PALM), villagers of Nawaikama, Gau, sought a similar chance when the opportunity presented itself.
A 26-year-old from the village is currently on a three-year contract in Australia.Tomasi Ramosi has been working in the meat industry for more than two years now.
His brother, Mesake Ravu, 35, is helping Mr Ramosi build his two-bedroom house, located by the seaside.
