807 Nurses Resigned Last Year

Minister for Health and Medical Services Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu in Parliament on February 15, 2023.
There were 807 nurses who resigned last year from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
Minister responsible, Dr Atonio Lalabalavu, said the ministry had 3056 nursing positions across Fiji and the nursing workforce was crucial to all aspects of health services.
Dr Lalabalavu said there was a need for these professionals to be well supported, appropriately remunerated and capable health care professionals who were compassionate and caring.
Some of these medical professionals leave for greener pastures and promotional opportunities.
