The suspension of Opposition leader Voreqe Bainimarama from Parliament for three years last night was expected.
Parliament voted with 27 ayes, 24 nos, and four abstained after a marathon sitting in a night full of drama.
Even the Speaker acknowledged the House was given a runaround.
Leader of Government Business, Lynda Tabuya, moved a motion that Mr Bainimarama be suspended for three years and apologise to the President, Ratu Williame Katonivere and to the public after Lenora Qereqeretabua tabled the Privileges Committee Report.
