Opposition Member of Parliament, Jone Usamate, has called on the coalition Government to remove all party politics from the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC).
He made the statement in his maiden speech on the last day of Parliament sitting on Friday.
As part of its first 100 days in office, the coalition Government has announced that the Council will convene in May this year.
The Ministry of iTaukei Affairs has been given the mammoth task of re-convening the GCC.
