Land For Fiji To Build Embassy In Port Moresby: Marape

Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape has confirmed the allocation of a piece of land in Port Moresby to build a Fiji mission.
This comes after a bilateral meeting with his Fijian counterpart, Sitiveni Rabuka. To reciprocate the offer, Fiji has also allocated land along Muanikau to facilitate a PNG chancery.
In 2020, during the height of the he COVID-19 crisis, the Fijian Government was forced to close the PNG high commission. It had been in operation for 34 years.
Mr Rabuka said the presence of Mr Marape and his delegation in Fiji symbolised the solidarity and cordial relationship of two Melanesian countries.
