Teacher Transfer Policy: It’s A Go!
Teachers who have served more than six years under the Ministry of Education should expect a transfer to other schools as part of the ministry’s existing teacher transfer policy.
This was clarified by line minister, Aseri Radrodro, in an interview yesterday.
The policy is understood to have been shelved because some teachers were unwilling to co-operate with its terms and conditions, or otherwise had become too comfortable in their schools.
In the past, some teachers from maritime islands had applied to be transferred to the urban schools in Viti Levu or Vanua Levu but there was no response from the ministry.
