The longest serving female firefighter was the parade commander during the centennial celebrations for Fiji’s Fire Service in Suva yesterday.

Rokowati Crocker, 35, joined the National Fire Authority in 2008. Ms Crocker hails from Mokani Village in Bau, Tailevu with maternal links to Galoa Village in Lekutu, Bua.

She said it felt special to set a trend for women who have joined the authority.

“Being the parade commander today was indeed an honour, especially celebrating the 100 years of the fire service in Fiji. The parade today consists of firefighters from around the country,” Ms Crocker said.
