Rewa Opens Premier League Defence Campaign In Style

Defending Digicel Fiji Premier League champions Rewa opened their defence campaign with a 2-1 win over Suva on Friday night.
Rewa got an early lead when midfielder Tevita Waranaivalu slotted in their first goal in the third minute.
The Delta Tigers piled on the pressure as they never allowed Suva to settle down.
In the 29th minute Kavaia Rawaqa floated in a beautiful cross for young striker Josaia Sela to finish it off with a powerful header as Rewa led 2-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Suva sent in star striker Azariah Soromon who replaced Rusiate Matererega while veteran Meli Codro took over from Saimone Balewai.
In the 56th minute, Suva’s Merrill Nand took a long range shot, which was tapped away by Rewa goalkeeper Emori Ragata and following up was Soromon who rifled the ball to the back of the net.
