49 Roads And Crossings Closed In West

Flooding brought on by adverse weather conditions caused the closure of 49 roads and crossings in Lautoka, Sigatoka, Nadi, Rakiraki, and Ba to members of the public.

Flooding brought on by adverse weather conditions caused the closure of 49 roads and crossings in Lautoka, Sigatoka, Nadi, Rakiraki, and Ba to members of the public.

Ba

The Ba District office confirmed that the Ba River had not burst its banks, however, certain parts of Ba were flooded.

Rakiraki and Tavua

Rakiraki and Tavua Town Councils chief executive officer Sailosi Sawana confirmed that some rivers in Rakiraki had burst their banks.

“As of this morning (yesterday), the Nakauvadra River and the Penang River had burst their banks. The water level has since receded but we expect it to increase again tonight during high tide,” he said.
