Plea Deferred For Man Charged With Murder Of Daughter’s Partner
A man charged with the alleged murder of his daughter’s partner will take his plea on March 20 at the High Court in Lautoka.

A man charged with the alleged murder of his daughter’s partner will take his plea on March 20 at the High Court in Lautoka.
Maika Naisara Bavou, is alleged to have assaulted Saimoni Virai, 19, at Vatukacevaceva Village in Ra in August 2022, and allegedly staged the crime scene to make it appear as a suicide. Mr Virai died as a result of injuries sustained.
The matter was heard before Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza on Monday. Bavou was represented by Legal Aid Commission lawyer Kelly Vulimainadave while the state was represented by Sheenal Swastika.
