No Surprise Over Bainimarama Resignation

Voreqe Bainimarama’s resignation from Parliament came as no surprise.
It was going to happen sooner or later after he was suspended by Parliament for three years for his criticism of the President and comments about the military.
It would be unproductive if he remained Oppositiom Leader but could not enter Parliament as alluded to in an earlier column.
As predicted Inia Seruiratu will take over as Opposition Leader. He is the number three in the pecking order of the FijiFirst hierarchy
With Mr Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum not in Parliament, Mr Seruiratu is the logical choice. He has proved himself as a powerful debater and can stand his ground against the best the Coalition Government has to offer.
