Nausori Is Buzzing With Chances

Ongoing investments at Nausori Town should be a signal for other investors and businesses of the opportunities the municipality can offer for corporates to grow.
The Nausori Chamber of Commerce have several projects lined up for the year, apart from the current developments taking place.
On Wednesday, members of the Chamber was briefed about the upcoming projects that will take shape in the municipality.
Its executive member, Naszia Bibi, said they had planned to acquire a piece of land for a tax-free zone.
It’ll be in an area where goods would be imported, stored, handled and manufactured under specific customs regulation and generally not subjected to customs duty, she said.

Ms Bibi believes the town needs this because there is an increase of manufacturers showing interest in opening their business in Nausori.
“We have now made a request to the Government to provide us with land for industrial businesses to set-up or open their business there like manufactures and garments,” she said.
“There’s a lot of idle land within Nausori, where this tax-free zone can be situated.
“Once this project is completed, it is expected to generate employment and will have a multiple impact on the economy activities in Nausori.”
They intend to have another meeting next week to moot ideas of building a campus in Nausori.
