Talks Soon With Partners To Improve Police Barracks

Pio Tikoduadua, says they will be in talks with development partners on how they can improve the Police barracks at the Police Special Response Unit in Nasinu.
The Minister for Home Affairs was commenting after touring the unit on Wednesday and witnessed the dire conditions of some of the quarters.
He said he was surprised that even in its conditions, Police officers continued to live in them with their families.
“There are a lot of things to do in building the capacity of the units so that Police officers are effective in their role to assist the public and the Government,” he said.
“There’s still a long way to go but obviously money is always an issue.
