Minister Donates Brushcutters, Thanks Voters

Sixteen villages in Vanua Levu were donated brushcutters by the Minister for Sugar and Multi-Ethnic Affairs, Charan Jeath Singh.

Mr Singh thanked his supporters by personally buying the brushcutters which cost $20,000.

Villagers that were assisted, applauded Mr Singh for hearing their needs.

Villages supported included Qelemumu, Vuo, Doguru, Lekutulevu, Bulileka, Nacereyaga, Batiri, Naduri, Sasa, Tabia and three villages on Kia and Mali Islands.

Mr Singh handed-over the brushcutters at his supermarket in Labasa Town on Friday.

He said the donation was not politically driven.

Instead, it was to thank his loyal supporters for voting for him to be elected into Parliament.

Mr Singh assured the public of the Northern Division, that this was not the first and the last of these donation drives.

Bulileka Village headman Manasa Leku said they voted for Mr Singh because they trusted him.
