The Government has invested $500,000 in micro businesses since the inception of a trade enhancement programme, in which 69 per cent of recipients were women, Minister for Small and Medium Enterprises Manoa Kamikamica has said.

Over 1900 applications have been received since the programme was launched, he said.

And all applications received funding of up to $500, Mr Kamikamica said.

“Our support does not stop with just encouragement for this kind of initiative; we provide training, mentoring, hand-holding and most importantly funding,” he said.
