More Women Interested In Agricultural Insurance

More farmers are gravitating towards an insurance product that protects their interest in the event of natural disasters.
The growing number of farmers who are signing up with a parametric microinsurance scheme, is owed to industry news of a payout amounting to $100,000 which was distributed to several farmers.
The scheme is a product of the Pacific Insurance and Climate Adaptation Fund (PICAP), and is administered by the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF).
It builds on farmers’ financial preparedness and resilience of low-income households in the event of climate hazards.
