A businessman in Bua, who was allegedly involved in illegal logging operations, and charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a civil servant, has had his case adjourned to April 3.
The matter was called at the High Court in Labasa on Monday and the accused, Jay Kumar, the director of Jaydil’s Sawmilling and Timber Supplies, appeared before Judge Justice, Thushara Rajasinghe.
Kumar was released on bail by the Labasa Magistrate’s Court despite allegations that he tried to kill the director forestry officer northern.
