Burial Plots Can Be Re-Opened Twice

Cemetery burial plots can now be re-opened twice at the request of family members.
Acting Commissioner of Corrections Salote Panapasa said this on Monday as the Attorney-General, Siromi Turaga, was touring the corrections facilities.
Previously, she said the practice was to only reopen burial plots once after 14 years.
Fiji Corrections Service oversees the Nasinu cemetery, both the old and new extension cemeteries in Suva and the Vatuwaqa cemetery.
Vatuwaqa cemetery only caters for reopened burial plots while the new Suva cemetery and new site in Nasinu accommodates new bookings.
