Rabuka Appoints Valenitabua On FRU Board
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka yesterday announced the appointment of lawyer Simione Valenitabua to the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) Board.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter addressed to the FRU chairman earlier in the day. “Valenitabua, by virtue of my appointment, replaces the incumbent nominee to the FRU Board of former Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama,” Rabuka said in his letter.
Bainimarama’s nominee is Humphrey Tawake.
Under the FRU Constitution, Valenitabua, out of the nine (9) directors, is appointed by the Prime Minister and not elected, at next month’s FRU annual general meeting.
