Govt Revokes No Jab, No Job Policy

Former Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama had announced the policy in July 2021, which stated that civil servants would be dismissed if they refused to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

The No Jab, No Job policy has been revoked by Government, an announcement made by Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga in a press conference yesterday.

Mr Turaga also confirmed that restrictions that previously prevented unvaccinated individuals from entering houses of worship have been lifted, effective immediately as stipulated in the gazette.

Former Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama had announced the policy in July 2021, which stated that civil servants would be dismissed if they refused to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

The policy was extended to the private sector later that year in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
