Police Commissioner: Crimes Against Women Concerning

Crimes against women last month recorded a 12 per cent increase, whereby 200 reports were received compared to 178 for the same period in 2022.
Acting Police Commissioner Juki Fong Chew said the increase in reports of crimes against women for the month of February was a major concern, and the Fiji Police Force called for a holistic approach in addressing the offences that were being perpetrated by trusted male family members.
Police recorded 108 reports of illicit drugs compared to 54 for the 2022 period, indicating increased police effort on the war on drugs.
