Police Commissioner: Crimes Against Women Concerning

Crimes against women last month recorded a 12 per cent increase, whereby 200 reports were received com­pared to 178 for the same period in 2022.

Crimes against women last month recorded a 12 per cent increase, whereby 200 reports were received com­pared to 178 for the same period in 2022.

Acting Police Commissioner Juki Fong Chew said the in­crease in reports of crimes against women for the month of February was a major concern, and the Fiji Police Force called for a holistic approach in ad­dressing the offences that were being perpetrated by trusted male family members.

Police recorded 108 reports of illicit drugs compared to 54 for the 2022 period, indicating in­creased police effort on the war on drugs.
