Parveen Bala Made False Promise In 2014, Biman Prasad Claims
Minister for Finance Biman Prasad has accused FijiFirst Member of Parliament, Parveen Bala, of making a false promise in 2014.
Mr Biman pointed out that Mr Bala had promised to hold local government elections, but instead continued with the review process for four years before handing over to another minister.
Mr Biman claimed that the review process went on for eight years, indicating that the previous Government had no intention of holding local government elections.
He accused the Government of enjoying the benefits of interfering in the system, appointing administrators, engaging in corrupt practices, and nepotism.
