The Office of the Speaker of Parliament is processing the resignation of the former Leader of Opposition Voreqe Bainimarama.
At the start of the March Parliament sitting yesterday, Speaker Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu confirmed receiving Mr Bainimarama’s resignation on March 8.
After receiving the resignation he referred the matter to the Privileges Committee seeking clarification on whether there were any further aspects or impact on the privileges matter to be considered before proceeding to deal with the resignation.
