Demand For Passports Puts Strain On Immigration Dept

The huge demand for Fijian passports is putting a lot of strain on immigration officials, says the Immigration Minister Pio Tikoduadua.
He made the statement in Parliament while contributing to the debate on the Report of the Standing Committee on Justice, Law and Human Rights on the 2018-2019 Annual Report of the Office of the Prime Minister and the Department of Immigration on Monday.
Mr Tikoduadua said the conditions for obtaining a passport were clear and there were different timelines and charges for those who wanted their passports immediately versus those who did not.
