The global bird flu crisis has not affected egg production or prices in the country, says the Ministry of Agriculture.
However, the rising cost of raw materials, particularly chicken feed, has led to an increase in retail prices.
Fiji imports around 80 per cent of its raw materials in the poultry sector, including feed for chickens.
The ministry has confirmed that no cases of avian flu have been reported in the country, after checking with Biosecurity and Australia and New Zealand.
