Only 40 per cent of Fijian women are employed and earn an average one third less than men.

This was highlighted by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Lynda Tabuya in her ministerial statement in Parliament on Wednesday.

Speaking on the newly-launched Fiji Country Gender Assessment (FCGA), Ms Tabuya highlighted that women in Fiji shouldered three quarters of unpaid care work at home.
