Remuneration packages for Fijian nurses are expected to increase in the next budget if mitigation measures are finalised, the Ministry of Health has revealed.
Line minister Dr Atonio Lalabalavu confirmed that more nurses were leaving the ministry.
Dr Lalabalavu said the only way they were holding on to their end of the bargain was by paying off overtime and meal allowances.
Rehiring retired nurses was another option, he said.
