Flights To Japan Resume

Fiji Airways resumes direct flights to Narita, Japan after a three-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This move signals Fiji’s commitment to strengthening its ties with the Japanese market, which has always been a vital player in Fiji’s tourism growth trajectory.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka said Japan had always been an important market for Fiji.
“We are confident that the resumption of flights from Japan will have a positive impact on our economy, not only on tourism, but on trade and investments. We are committed to ensuring that our visitors have a memorable stay and will continue to work closely with our industry partners to ensure that Fiji remains a top destination for international travellers.”
Fiji Airways CEO and Managing Director, Andre Viljoen said, “I am thrilled to announce the resumption of our Fiji Airways flights to Japan.
“This marks a significant achievement for our airline and the tourism industry as a whole.
“We are excited to welcome back our Japanese guests and offer them our world-renowned Fijian hospitality and service.”
The International Visitor Survey reveals that pre-COVID, Fiji was receiving close to 15,000 Japanese visitors a year with almost $47 million total spend in 2019.
