Man Found Guilty Of Assaulting Wife With Hammer
The High Court in Labasa has found a 38-year-old man guilty for assaulting his wife with a hammer.
Ashneel Kamal Deo represented by Rikshal Dayal of Sarju Prasad Esquire appeared before Judge Justice Gihan Kulatunga.
He was charged with one count of act with intent to cause grievous harm.
Justice Kulatunga while delivering his judgement said he found the prosecution had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt.
During the trial when the victim was called to provide evidence, Justice Kulatunga said he found her not to be a cooperative witness, not truthful and making excuses to protect her husband who was the provider of the family.
