When Dr Romeo Naiorosui takes time off work, he likes to visit places that hold special meaning – like the ancient buildings in Suva.

The 30-year-old is a medical practitioner at the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

He was hailed a hero two years ago when he helped a woman deliver her baby on a fiberglass boat in Gau, Lomaiviti.

He was serving the islands of Gau, Batiki and Nairai, based at the Qarani Health Centre, before he moved to Suva recently.

He hails from Yaroi Village in Matuku, Lau.

Dr Naiorosui lives in Suva.

Where in Fiji would you take visitors to?

The Lau group is magictical.

From the pristine views at Qilaqila, Vanuabalavu, to the crystal sandy beaches of Kabara.

I’d definitely take them on a tour of the province.

What is your favourite place for coffee/ pie?

Iced coffee at Bulaccino is a must.

The capital city is busy every day, when you quench your thirst with this drink – that’s it.

Pies have to be homemade.

What is your favourite backyard spot?

It has to be under the mango tree at Qarani Health Centre in Gau, where it overlooks the sea.

It offers calm and peace.

What is one place in Fiji that remains on your bucket list?

Taveuni and its natural wonders and people.

I have heard so much about it and can’t wait for the opportunity to get there.
