With a high number of drug-related cases coming from Cakaudrove, Tukavesi Police Station exhibit room is filled with illicit drugs.

Station officer Inspector Dominiko Bainidawa raised his concerns with Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration Pio Tikoduadua yesterday and requested for more storage facilities.

He said all exhibits were keep it in the small room and then taken to Labasa or Savusavu court house whenever required as evidence.

“Sometimes judicial process takes so long that the marijuana plants get dried up,” Inspector Bainidawa said.

“We also request for good uniform to wear while going out conducting drug raids.”
