Man Gets Eight Years For Violently Raping Partner
A man who violently raped his de facto partner causing serious injury to a part of her reproductive system was sentenced to eight years imprisonment with a non-parole period of six years.

A man who violently raped his de facto partner causing serious injury to a part of her reproductive system was sentenced to eight years imprisonment with a non-parole period of six years.
The victim was between 17 and 20 years on the date of the incident, August 2020.
It was heard that the offender had taken the victim to his home and they both consumed an intoxicant substance which led to the incident.
Judge Justice Gihan Kulatunga said the incident was certainly without the victim’s consent.
