Neglect On iTaukei Issues Worries SODELPA

One of the biggest political parties in the country, SODELPA, claims the 2023 National Economic Summit neglects the basic iTaukei and indigenous issues in its programme.
The two-day summit starts today at Suva’s Grand Pacific Hotel, with an estimated 500 attendees.
While the summit has a thematic presentation on iTaukei under the section titled ‘Indigenous Participation in Development’, it is only a brief 15-minute segment out of the 12 thematic areas.
In response, the party’s vice president, Anare Jale, expressed disappointment, stating that the summit agenda and meeting papers gave low priority to issues concerning indigenous socio-economic development.
