Multiplex To Replace Cathay Hotel
Another four-star hotel is going up in the Western Division, as demolition of the historical Cathay Hotel will be converted into a state-of-the-art mixed use retail and hospitality precinct, with an 80-room four star hotel.

An artist impression of Challeneg City multiplex, which will replace the old Cathay Hotel, and include a 300-seat conference facility that overlooks the Churchill Park, Lautoka.
Another four-star hotel is going up in the Western Division, as demolition of the historical Cathay Hotel will be converted into a state-of-the-art mixed use retail and hospitality precinct, with an 80-room four star hotel.
Challenge Group of Companies managing director, Suresh Patel, said the development was in response to increasing demand for quality hotel accommodation and retail spaces in Lautoka.
The company acquired the property in 2019.
