Doctor Temo Waqanivalu was terminated by the World Health Organisation (WHO) on Monday for three separate allegations of sexual misconduct.
He was the head of the WHO’s Non-Communicable Disease Integrated Service Delivery unit based at the WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, when the alleged incidents happened over a period of five years.
He was alleged to have harassed a woman at a WHO workshop in Japan in 2017 and most recently groped a 26-year-old British doctor at an evening reception of the World Health Summit in Berlin last October.
