We Will Tighten Our Defence Says Inoke Male

While the Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua team is a game away from winning the 2023 Super W trophy they understand that the Queensland Reds women are not be an easy side to beat.
However head coach Inoke Male indicated their defence could turn things around.
The two sides met in Round 4 where the Reds thrashed Drua 45-22.
On Saturday at Queensland Country Bank Stadium they will go head to head in the final of the Super W which the Fijiana Drua hopes for a back to back title win.
The Fijiana Drua was a centre of attention on social media last fortnight after two consecutive losses against Waratahs (31-5), Western Force (23-10); the Brisbane Fijian community assisted in providing them meals.
The Fijiana side returned home for a break; they then turned the tables around and won 20-17 against Waratahs in the semifinal.
The Reds defeated Brumbies 23-20 in the second semifinals.
“With a lot of things going on last week, I know it was good break that the girls went home to see their families,” Male said.
“Spending time with their families before the semis was a big boost for the side.”
Male added while there were no major injuries concern, tomorrow, he would make a few changes in this week’s line-up for the final.
“No matter what, by hook or by crook we are going to defend this title,” he said.
“We just have to tighten our defence.”
Few players like including Number 8 Sereima Lewniqila and locks Asinate Serevi limped off the field on Sunday.
Male added that the duo had a muscle cramp which was due to lack of hydration.
Meanwhile, he indicated that winger Vitalina Naikore is back in the country after being injured and was part of Fiji Bati head coach Wise Kativerata’s outreach team to Naitasiri last week.
