Police Officer Charged For Assaulting De Facto Partner

A 42-year-old Police officer was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm to his 36-year-old de facto partner.

This was revealed in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions’ non-sexual violence statistics for the month of April.

There were 46 people charged with a total of 55 counts of separate incidents in April.

Two offences of murder was recorded while seven offences of aggravated robbery, one of attempted aggravated robbery, one of robbery, 13 of aggravated burglary, 10 of theft, four of assault causing actual bodily harm, one of serious assault, three of acts with intent to cause grievous harm, one of forgery, two of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs, four of unlawful possession of illicit drugs, four of unlawful exportation of illicit drugs, one of criminal trespass and one of escape from lawful custody.

There were 32 victims of the 55 counts of separate incidents. There were five incidents where the accused and the victim were related to one another.

Of the 46 accused persons, five were juveniles and one was a police officer.

The juveniles were charged with aggravated burglary and theft offences.

There was one incident where four men were charged with the murder of a 61-year-old man.

The accused persons were also charged with the aggravated robbery of $10,493.20 worth of assorted items from the victim’s minimart.

One of the accused person’s was also charged for escaping lawful custody.
