Father Of Two Graduates With Honours, Dedicates Success To Late Mother

Ashneel Shankar, a father of two, recently graduated with flying colours from the University of Fiji and attributed his success to his family, including his late mother.
The 35-year-old, who hails from Nasole, Nasinu attended Rishikul Primary School and Rishikul Sanatan College.
He graduated with a Master of Diplomacy and International Relations (with honours) last Friday, along with other students from the University.
Mr Shankar was a former Fijian diplomat and served as the second secretary at the Embassy of Fiji in Tokyo, Japan from September 2018 to February 2023.
He was motivated to continue his education by the former Fijian Ambassador, Isikeli Mataitoga, under whose leadership and guidance he enrolled in the course at the University of Fiji.
Mr Shankar was grateful to Rishikul Maha Sabha of Fiji Chairperson Dr Vijay Nair for his mentorship and acknowledged his spouse, Sheetal Raj, for being his pillar of strength, as well as his two children, Yohaan and Ivaan.
He began his higher education journey with a Bachelor of Management and Human Resource Management from the Fiji National University in 2013, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Entrepreneurship from the same university in 2019.
Mr Shankar then completed his Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Fiji, where he received the Outstanding Master of International Relations and Diplomacy student award.
