Major Wins For SME’s At Nawi

Nawi Island Limited in Savusavu is yet to decide on the official opening of its first stage, which is the category five cyclone resistance marina.
It was expected to open last month, but delays in arrival of building material affected the schedule.
Company project general manager Lindsay Lee said the main challenges were the continued interruption and supply of materials required for the marina, exacerbate by shipping issues post COVID-19.
During a recent visit by Minister for Trade, Co-Operatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Manoa Kamikamica, Mr Lee said the 132-berth marina with 21 super yacht provision would become the largest sustainer for small medium enterprises (SME’s) in Cakaudrove.
“We are starting phase two which is the pool and beach club area, a retail building,” Mr Lee said.
“We do not have an opening date set yet.”

Second Retail Building
The resort is construct a second retail building, with a kids club, a pool and a beach club.
“Mr Kamikamica said the state-of-art development would provide both Fiji with great social and economic benefits, by opening its waters to international visitors, yachts and superyachts.
It would also provide provide residential and commercial investment opportunities.
“The custom-designed marina, engineered to provide year round mooring, is also anticipated,” Mr Kamikamica said.
