Who Owns Fiji Rugby Union?
Fiji Rugby Union House.

An individual is the sole proprietor of the Fiji Rugby Union Limited (FRU Ltd).

We have chosen not to reveal the identity of the sole owner for legal implications.

It is understood that no proper documentation or identification of the said owner was lodged with the Registrar of Companies.

Questions have been raised on the registration, with only an individual owning 100 per cent shares of the public entity.

Registration documents indicate that the FRU company is limited by guarantee (public company).

FRU Ltd was established on April 12, 2019, as the commercial arm of the FRU, but its function has been dormant since.

At the time, Voreqe Bainimarama was the president of FRU, with former Fiji Corrections Service Commander, Francis Kean, as chairman.

Despite the company’s dormant status, its articles of association were operational.

The previous FRU board had operated under the articles of association that had no mention of the Union being a Trust.
