A-G Pays Tribute To Senior Citizens Of Girmitiyas

Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Siromi Turaga paid tribute to the senior citizens of the Girmitiyas for raising a generation of people who helped Fiji.
He said this while officiating at the Inaugural Pacific Girmit Cultural Night 2023 at the Korovuto College in Nadi on Saturday night.
The programme was organised by the Korovuto Sewa Sanstha in partnership with the World Hindu Federation and Global Girmit Centre.
“Thank you so much for your hard work; you have raised a generation of people with wisdom, love and hard work that shaped this nation.
To commemorate the struggle and injustice as well the atonement of that, to your dedication, hard work and perseverance that created Fiji a proud nation.”children,” Mr Tugara said.
“Despite those hardships, as a reminder of the strength and the resilience they made profound contributions to the Fijian economy through the sugarcane industry and not forgetting the value they place on education.”
